Dr. Susan Duma emphasizes the importance of values-based living. Using acceptance and mindfulness strategies together with behavior change, she helps people have healthy contact with thoughts, feelings, memories, and physical sensations that have been feared or avoided.

Dr. Duma works with clients to clarify their deeply held personal values and align their choices accordingly. She believes people can live a fulfilling life despite pain. Dr. Duma has spent many years treating clients with concerns such as depression, anxiety, problematic substance use, relationship difficulties and stress. Having trained at the National Center for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder; she specializes in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and previously worked in Veteran Affairs Medical Centers and for the Army.

Dr. Duma is also a certified yoga teacher and offers yoga therapy as an adjunctive way for people to resolve psychological and emotional concerns that may be housed in the body.

Outside of the office, you will find Dr. Duma cooking new recipes, rejuvenating with friends and food, biking, and practicing yoga.

Farah Ali, PsyD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Farah Ali is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Spalding University in 2009. Dr. Ali primarily conducts individual psychotherapy with adults, as well as professional consultation with other providers and disciplines to provide integrated care.

Dr. Ali's therapeutic style integrates techniques from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and solution-focused therapies with a heavy emphasis on self-compassion, mindfulness, and acceptance. Her foremost goal is to provide a warm and compassionate therapeutic atmosphere so that the challenging work of altering maladaptive patterns can be accomplished in a supportive environment. She is experienced in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, general life stress and adjustments, mind-body pain, and relational issues. Dr. Ali's clinical interests include the emotional impact of fertility issues in women, as well as the connection between mind and body.

Outside of the office, Dr. Ali enjoys traveling, finding the best chocolate chip cookies, yoga, cooking and baking, and reading. In the summer, you are likely to find her outside, soaking up as much Chicago warmth as possible.

Erin Brewer is a Licensed Professional Counselor who obtained her master's degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, IL. Erin provides therapeutic care to individuals that are seeking growth, change and alignment with their authentic selves. Erin works to build a relationship full of warmth, compassion and non-judgement in which her clients can identify their values and choose behaviors that help them find fulfillment.

Erin is experienced in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship issues, life adjustments and stress. Erin’s clinical interests include working with adults in the Millennial generation, but is open to working with adults of all ages. She utilizes the therapeutic styles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, depending on what fits best per person, to meet her client’s therapeutic goals.

Outside of Collective Hope, Erin enjoys partaking in all things Chicago, playing games, and cooking with friends and family.

Annette Famulski, LPC, MA (she/her/hers)

Annette aims to provide a compassionate, supportive and non-judgmental environment by attuning to the individual and meeting them right where they are. Annette places value on cultivating safety and trust through the therapeutic relationship as she believes clients are the experts of their own experiences and their own intersecting identities. Annette comes alongside her clients to help them see their strengths, begin to work through personal issues, nurture resiliency and improve their quality of life. Her treatment approach is influenced by relational and attachment theories while utilizing various cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness interventions which emphasize the mind-body connection. Annette has experience working with various mood disorders, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma and life transitions.

Annette is a Licensed Professional Counselor who holds a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College and completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Annette is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Her clinical experience includes working with adolescents, adults and families from diverse backgrounds in both hospital and community mental health settings.

Outside of Collective Hope, Annette enjoys traveling, exploring various Chicago neighborhoods, playing board games and spending time with family and friends.

 

SABAH KAYYAL, MPA, MSW, LSW (she/her/hers)

Sabah has a passion to empower her clients in overcoming their obstacles by helping them recognize their personal strengths to promote healing and growth. She believes that in facing life's challenges and adversity, resilience and emotional strength are developed. Sabah has experience supporting individuals with mild to severe anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, relationship issues, life adjustments/stress and behavioral issues. Sabah also has experience working in crisis counseling, nonprofit organizations supporting after-school programs and resident services for those residing in affordable housing. Sabah is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and earned her Master’s in Social Work (MSW) and Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from Aurora University. Sabah graduated from Western Illinois University with her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW).


By identifying and focusing on personal strengths rather than deficits, Sabah helps clients recognize healthy coping skills to overcome obstacles, develop solutions and achieve their goals. She also values the importance of therapeutic alliances between herself and her clients and believes it is important the client is the driver of their treatment journey with the support of their clinician. By maintaining a warm and safe therapeutic environment, Sabah recognizes the importance of individuality and supports her clients based on their unique, individual needs in conjunction with evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), mindfulness-based therapy, solution-focused therapy and process therapy. Sabah works with teens, adults, families and couples.

Outside of work, Sabah enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants and activities around the Chicagoland, discovering new music, watching basketball and cooking new and traditional family recipes.

 

Yana Dubinsky, PsyD

Dr. Yana Dubinsky is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, practicing in Chicago since 2010. Dr. Dubinsky received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and completed her residency at CUNY-Baruch, in New York City. Dr. Dubinsky has completed a Certificate program in Primary Care Behavioral Health at The University of Massachusetts Medical School, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. Dr. Dubinsky is recognized by the National Registry of Health Service Providers in Psychology.

Dr. Dubinsky works with adults offering individual and couples psychotherapy.

Her therapeutic style is best described as integrative, utilizing an individual and holistic approach to understanding the needs of her clients wherever they may be on their journey. She builds upon the foundation of relational therapy while integrating aspects of other approaches, primarily mindfulness and incorporating the mind and body connection, to work towards self-actualization. 

Dr. Dubinsky is also proficient in cognitive behavioral psychotherapy. Her view is that the therapist/client relationship is collaborative, with both therapist and client working together to help understand the client and their difficulties more clearly.

Outside of work, Dr. Dubinsky enjoys spending as much time outside as possible! She loves paddle boarding, going on bike rides, and traveling to see new places where she can spend time outdoors.
